Where Baby's First Memories Begin
This sweet in-home newborn session took place entirely in Baby's nursery, and it was the perfect space for documenting these first days together. The room was filled with warm greens, rich wood tones, and thoughtfully chosen details that made it feel calm, inviting, and full of personality without distracting from what mattered most.
The natural light pouring through the windows was just as beautiful. It filled the nursery with a soft glow that made every cuddle, every tiny stretch, and every quiet moment feel relaxed and effortless. It's exactly the kind of light I hope for during an in-home newborn session because it keeps everything feeling natural while highlighting all of those little newborn details.
Mom and Dad absolutely nailed their outfit choices. The soft greens, creams, and neutral tones paired beautifully with the nursery, creating a gallery that feels cohesive without looking overly styled. Coordinating with your home instead of matching each other perfectly is one of my favorite ways to create photographs that feel comfortable and true to your family.
Their sweet pup also joined in for a few photos, and I always love when dogs are included. They're part of the family, too, and those images become even more meaningful as everyone grows together.
It was so nice seeing this family again after photographing their maternity session at Sayen House & Gardens. Getting to document both the anticipation of welcoming a baby and the first days at home is such a special part of this job, and it's always an honor to be invited back for the next chapter.
Your home doesn't need to be perfect for a lifestyle newborn session. A room with beautiful window light, a nursery you've poured your heart into, and the people (and pets!) you love most are all you need to create photographs you'll look back on for years to come.
