A Maternity Session at Belmar Beach
This maternity session at Belmar Beach, New Jersey turned out to be one of those evenings where everything just fell into place, even with the forecast being a little unpredictable.
We started off near a local fishing club, where the classic wooden pier stretched out into the ocean and created such a cool, timeless backdrop. Right before you step onto the beach, there’s also this little stretch of greenery that’s so pretty and unexpected. It gave us a whole different look before we even made it to the sand.
The light at the beginning of the session was unreal. The sun peeked through just in time, casting this warm glow over everything. It felt peaceful and calm, the perfect setting to celebrate this sweet couple and the little life they’re about to welcome.
About halfway through, they changed outfits, and the vibe totally shifted in the best way. The first look was soft, romantic, and flowy. Very beachy and light. The second outfit was cozy and laid-back, and it brought such a sweet, intimate feel to the rest of the session. I love when couples do an outfit change because it gives us a chance to tell more of their story.
And then the clouds rolled in. Fast. You could feel the air change and see the sky getting darker by the minute. But somehow, the rain held off until literally three minutes after we wrapped. At 8:03 PM to be exact. It could not have been timed better.
Even with a little bit of weather drama, everything about this session came together so beautifully.
